DESCRIPTION
Underfloor wheel lathes are state-of-the-art machine tools designed for turning (reprofiling) railway wheels mounted on their axles and with their corresponding grease boxes. This way, the wheels can be turned, without having to be removed from the axles.
We have three main models of underfloor wheel lathes, which have been developed to service different types of trains and railway vehicles according to their maximum weight per axle.
All models are configurable to all track gauges and different tread profiles depending on the customer’s needs.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The small model is specially designed for maintenance of trams, metro trains, commuter trains and rail vehicle assemblies, whose maximum axle weights do not exceed 18 tons:
Wheel diameters | 400 – 700 / 600 – 1300 mm |
Maximum load per wheel | 88290 N |
Machine weight | 15 T |
Horizontal Axis Speed | 750 mm/min |
Vertical Axis Speed | 600 mm/min |
Machining speed | 0 – 2.5 mm/rev |
Surface quality | Ra. < 6.3 µm |
The intermediate model is designed for the maintenance of high-speed trains, long-distance trains, commuter self-propelled units, freight trains and rail vehicle assemblies whose maximum weight per axle does not exceed 25 tons:
Wheel diameters | 600 -1300 / 800 – 1600 mm |
Maximum load per wheel | 122625 N |
Machine weight | 15 T |
Horizontal Axis Speed | 1500 mm/min |
Vertical Axis Speed | 600 mm/min |
Machining speed | 0 – 2.5 mm/rev |
Surface quality | Ra. < 6.3 µm |
The large model has been developed to service long-distance trains, freight trains, locomotives, and railway vehicle assemblies whose maximum weight per axle does not exceed 40 tons:
Wheel diameters | 800 – 1600 mm |
Maximum load per wheel | 171675 N |
Machine weight | 30 T |
Horizontal Axis Speed | 1500 mm/min |
Vertical Axis Speed | 600 mm/min |
Machining speed | 0 – 2.5 mm/rev |
Surface quality | Ra. < 6.3 µm |
The automated model allows the operator to turn a complete composition without the need to intervene in the process of train movement and wheel turning decision. These are some of the automated tasks:
- Automatic motion of the composition
- Measurement of the wheel profile before using the lathe
- Turning of the wheel according to the pre-defined template
